Rahaautomaattiyhdistys (RAY), Finnish Slot Machine Association of, has exclusive rights to gambling operations in Finland. Soon it will offer online services. The company signed the contract with Playtech.
Established in 1938 Today RAY operates more than 19,000 slot machines all over Finland. There are also 300 club-based games in the company's portfolio. RAY runs the Grand Casino Helsinki, the only international type casino. The RAY revenues for 2009 are €651 million. This February 2010 the company got the license which allows offering online gambling services which are going to be available in the third quarter.
Playtech has signed an exclusive contract for a period of 4 years. Thanks to it, RAY will provide players with online casino and online poker. The online casino games will work on Playtech's EdGE gaming platform developed by Gaming Technology Solutions Limited. The mobile gaming will also be available.
Mor Weizer, CEO at Playtech, is sure that this contract is the real evidence of the fact that Playtech offers first class product. Weizer commented that RAY is a very experienced highly respected operator. He said: "We look forward to working with them to develop the important and highly active Finnish gaming market."
Executive Director of RAY gaming operations, Janne Perakyla, spoke about some requirements they wanted to see in the software developer. RAY is a national online gaming provider so it is necessary to fulfill the conditions of the regulatory authority and check player IDs. Moreover, RAY required having right to responsible gambling and its own gaming selection. According to Perakyla, Playtech satisfies all requirements and has the best solutions for these things. Perakyla is sure that RAY procures the best online gambling solution for its clients including a continually developing gaming selection, the safest online service and the greatest customer support.
